Rekeying changes the pins inside your existing lock so old keys no longer work — without replacing the hardware. It's the single best move after a move-in, a lost key, or a roommate change.
As a rule of thumb: rekey when you move into a new home, after any contractor or short-term tenant has had a key, and any time a key goes missing and you can't account for it.
For most Staten Island homes we can rekey every exterior lock to a single new key in under an hour. If your locks are 20+ years old or showing wear, we'll tell you straight — sometimes a fresh lock is the smarter spend.
